Creating Calm Moments in the Chaos of Life
I've been enriched by living in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas and now Wisconsin. Each state has its own natural beauty and inspiration, as well as many lovely landscapes and animals to capture on canvas.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Here, I was able to notice my passion for acrylics. I met my husband, who is also an art major. After graduating, I spent 10 years as a graphic designer. I raised a son and daughter while volunteering and consistently painting.
After a move to Wisconsin, I decided to pursue my art passion to a professional level. The many relocations in my life have had me searching for what feels like home. The beauty of nature has been this connection for me.
I use multiple layers of thin, acrylic paint on a gallery style canvas. I add depth and perspective by emphasizing the highlights and shadows in each painting. I favor impressionist, realistic artwork. My goal is to introduce the viewer into a serene moment, it's my way of saying “welcome home.”
